DEAR MEDIA: It's possible I'm the only one who cares about this, but could you please point out that the word "Asian" means something different for Americans than it does for Britons? Asian in American parlance means East Asian and is meant to replace the old racist code word "Oriental;" Asian in British parlance means brown people of Indian or Pakistani origin. We don't have a blanket term for brown people, and they don't have a blanket term for yellow people.
